Mock Orange
Mock Orange is indie rock developed by these four friends as they were growing up in farm country. Maybe it was the isolation, perhaps it was the togetherness, Mock Orange listened to records and radio, heard the sounds of punk rock and alt rock, then broke them apart and put them back together, differently.
The name Mock Orange fell out of a dictionary its a bush or shrub. This means Mock Orange is not worried about changing your beliefs, they just exist. Sometimes Mock Orange goes fast and loud, othertimes they dont.
Nines & Sixes (Lobster Records) is the first Mock Orange album, released in the Autumn of 1998. At that time they were noticed for a razors edge blend of punk and emo styles. Nines & Sixes listed on all national college radio charts, gathered some #1 rankings and posted Top 60 in the CMJ New Music Monthly. Mock Orange then went around America, well, most of it, five times.
In the Autumn of 2000, The Record Play (Lobster Records), was the next Mock Orange album. It has ten songs of sonic perfection and intricate craftsmanship, recorded and produced by Mark Trombino (Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World). The Record Play stayed for a month in the CMJ Weekly National Top 50 Radio Chart.
Mock Orange is readying new music for the Winter of 2002. Mock Orange music has been used as soundtrack in movies, video, television, and games. They have performed in concert with many famous artists. When they are not making music, Mock Orange has normal jobs; Heath builds roads, Brandon lays tile, Joe tends bar, and Ryan is a baker. Whats most important is that Mock Orange plays for you.
